My Experience as a Stomach Cancer My Experience As A Cancer Stomach Patient I’m was operate my stomach after blood vomiting. After make Endoscopy and CT Scan, Specialist Leader by Prof. Siew Baw(From Myanmar)Dr.Faizul,Dr.Khaznizal and Dr.Lim was removed half of my stomach and half of my esophagus. My major operation at Hospital University Science Malaysia at Kubang Kerian,Kota Bharu,Kelantan on 28 Nov 2006 successful. It was take 9 hours. I was admitted to ICU ward for one day and after that send to Surgery Ward( 2 Intan). Doctor give me Morphine to relief pain. After one week, I make gastoroscopy to see whether my stomach is leaking or not. ENDOSCOPY PROCEDURE After two week at hospital, I’m discharge but cannot go to Mecca although I was selected to go there. To healing fast, I’m take “ikan haruan” and eel. I’m went to school as a teacher but just teaching, not do a heavy job. At January 2007, I was refered to Oncology Clinic but unfortunately doctor said my chemoteraphy treatment is too expansive, around RM70,000.00. Doctor don’t take any action to help me for get chemoteraphy. CT-SCAN PROCEDURE At Mei 2007, blood come out from my nose and mouth. It’s too much and I admit to ward for 2 week. Maybe allergic for eating watermelon. During in ward, I’m once more time refer to Oncology Clinic. Luckily Dr.Wan Yus Hanif give me a way to pay monthly for my oral chemoteraphy although it cost RM8380.00 permonth. Every month I must bank-in my money to Diethelm Malaysia Sendirian Berhad start on May 2007. After several CT Scan, cancer cell was spread to my liver, so Prof.Dr.Biswa Mohan Biswal, Oncologist and Radioterphist up oral chemoteraphy dose to 600 mg from 400mg, so cost increase to RM12880.00 permonth. I’m very worried to find money for bought my medicine because my claim from government, always late. Luckily, Dr.Wan Yus refer me to Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab 11, Kota Bharu and Mr.Othman Md.Zin help me to get medicine free because I’m government service. So begin on Januari 2008 until December 2009, I’m no more worried about money. Unfortunately, when medicine dose was increase, I’m so tired and can’t go to school as teacher. My stomach always pain and when it happen, I admit to ward. During 2008 and 2009, ward is my second house. I’m always vomiting and it take 2 hours until finish vomiting. When I’m remember it, I’m always cry lonely. Mei 2008, Prof.Biswal send me to Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang for PET Scan. The result is the cancer cell was spread to liver for 7 cm. I’m cannot go to school any more because I’m so tired. When I’m went to Hospital for appointment, I’m used a wheel chair. PET-SCAN PROCEDURE At Januari 2009, I’m once more admit ward because of stomach pain. I’m was refer to Pain Clinic and doctor prescribe morfin,patch and oxycontin to me for relief pain. At April, I’m admit ward again for stomach ache and doctor don’t give me take food for 20 days. I’m depend on water through drip and milk(TPM).For insert TPM, doctor insert tiub to my chest How sorrow I’m, only Allah know it. My mother and wife always cried when they saw my pain. Doctor also make barium to see wheather food stuck in my stomach or not. Prepared for Barium Follow Through Barium Follow Through Precedure Mei 2009, absess come out from my stomach and when I’m told Prof.Biswal, he send me to make biopsy and let me went home. Unfurtunotely, my absess become more bigger and I was admit 3 Selatan Ward. Doctor give me for relief pain until it broken during fasting month. I’m discharge but admit again because stomach ache attack again. During 2 Intan Ward, doctor dressing my absess, oh!!! How pain I’m!! I still remember, that day is Aidilfitri day 1430H(2009). Everyday Dr. Fatin was dressing me and everyday I’m hold bed when doctor dressing me. My tears come out to hold pain. My heart was broken when see my wife,my parents,son and my sibling celebrate Raya Day at Hospital. At sixth raya day, I’m discharge ward and return home. After discharge, I become more better and make Qurban at Eidul Adha. At December, Bachok Clinic Medical Officer introduce me Susu Lebah(Royal Jelly) and when I’m take it, I become more energy. I’m make one more procedure that is Fistulagram. A small tiub insert to my absess to where the origin of my absess. From x-ray, absess come from bowel. Fistulagram Procedure At January 2010, I’m start take new oral chemoteraphy that is Suttent(Sunitinib), before this I’m take glivec(Imanitinib). The cost of Sutent is RM17650.00 permonth. I have no choice, I must pay it until government approve my claim. Luckily for second month and third month, Sutent Assintant Program Foundation help me for get a free medicine. The side effect of Sutent is too extreme, it’s attack my foot until I can’t walk, severe pain at my absess, mouth ulcer and extreme tired. Green pus was come out from absess, follow by yellow pus and blood. My Cancer Specialist, Prof.Biswa make a radioteraphy to my absess for fast healing. It’s take 5 days. Now, September was coming and I didn’t get medicine yet because of government redtape. My claim at 2007 also didn’t getting yet, it cost was RM34100.00. Maybe it’s my fate. Waiting is too tension. My Allah give me strenghtend to fulfil my destiny. To all cancer survivor, remember our God(Allah swt), Insya Allah we can accept our fate and our destiny.
